Blarney Castle and Visitor Facilities Masterplan
Designed to form a new edge between the demense of the fifteenth century castle and Blarney town a series of visitor facility buildings will provide refreshment for the 400,000 people who visit the castle every year. Many come to kiss the legendary Blarney stone that is believed to impart the gift of eloquence. Others come to enjoy the beautiful landscape and grounds. The new buildings incorporate open loggias where people can sit and enjoy the lovely gardens. Revised traffic arrangements help to reduce parking around the historic square so that it can be restored as the heart of the town.
