Flexible Exhibition Pavilion, NUI Galway

Our new Exhibition Pavilion for the Hardiman Research Building in NUI Galway is a flexible steel pavilion with hinged wall panels and a slatted ceiling integrating lighting. The structure can be easily resized and reshaped making use of the hinged wall panels. The design enables many different spatial arrangements, from an open-plan rectangle similar to the current exhibition space, to a space broken into smaller shapes that bring the visitor on a journey. The new pavilion, completed in 2017, sits next to Ronnie Tallon’s original 1972 library building, a protected structure, and it reflects the rhythm of the architecture and spirit of the detailing in the original library building.
