Mariners Evening

Our mews house on Mariner’s Court, beside the Mariner’s Church in DĂșn Laoghaire was “topped out” last week (meaning that the structure is now complete). Our contractors Principal Construction are availing of the good weather to make the building watertight so that they can progress to the inside. They expect to have it finished by the summer. Mariner’s Court is just around the corner from our office on Adelaide Street. The house is on a compact mews site in an architectural conservation area. The ground floor consists of bedrooms and a study around a landscaped courtyard with living accommodation on the first floor. Windows are carefully positioned to give nice views without directly overlooking neighbour’s gardens. The design integrates traditional elements like the granite garden walls with modern timber-frame construction to deliver an A-rated environmental design incorporating solar power generation.
